Farah Fersi

Farah Fersi is a Tunisian artist, musician, and composer known for her virtuosity on the Kanun, a traditional Middle Eastern string instrument. Her musical journey began at the conservatory, where she developed a profound passion for the Kanun. Drawing inspiration from the rich cultural diversity surrounding her, Farah creatively fuses Arab and world music with this traditional instrument. One of her distinctive features is her innovative playing style, utilizing all ten fingers and incorporating percussion techniques, thereby expanding the possibilities of the qanûn. With a diverse stage experience that spans across Tunisia, France, Spain, Turkey, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Algeria, Farah has captivated audiences by skillfully blending musical genres and presenting a contemporary approach to the Kanun. In 2020, Farah achieved a significant milestone in her artistic journey with the release of her debut album, "Reborn." This album likely showcases her musical evolution and represents a culmination of her creative endeavors. Additionally, Farah has collaborated with various artists, enriching her artistic path and contributing to the broader musical landscape. Her dedication to pushing the boundaries of traditional music while respecting its roots marks her as an influential and innovative figure in the world of music, particularly in the context of the Kanun.

Farah Fersi collaborated with Jordi Savall for Orpheus XXI in 2023. Orpheus XXI is an international musical and humanitarian project founded by Jordi Savall. Farah Fersi has participated in numerous prestigious concerts and collaborations. Recently, she performed in the "Symphony Yemenite" concert in Paris and at the Jordi Savall Festival, where she played alongside esteemed musicians in France and Spain. Farah is currently engaged in various musical projects in France and the UAE, and she is preparing for her new album. In 2024, she performed with renowned musicians such as Waed Bouhassoun and Jordi Savall. Her notable performances this year included a concert with Orpheus 21, founded by Jordi Savall, in Fontfroide Narbonne, and the "Cycle de la Vie" concert with Waed Bouhassoun in Berlin Pierre Boulez Saal and in Auditorium Georges Brassens St Gély du Fesc. Additionally, she presented her own project, "Eternal Light," at a solo concert at the Halfaouine Festival in Tunis in April and later at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library in Dubai 2024. At the beginning of 2025, Farah will launch a unique project that merges music, theatre, and poetry in France, further showcasing her artistic versatility and dedication to cultural fusion.
